Our Hospital

About Us

In 1974, Dr. William Schultz opened the doors to Schultz Veterinary Clinic. From that day forward, his goal of providing exceptional veterinary care and client service has never wavered.

Over the next 30 years, Schultz Veterinary Clinic would gain a reputation for veterinary medicine of the highest quality with an emphasis on individual attention for every client. Since that first day, the practice has grown from a single veterinarian trying to make ends meet, to a bustling four doctor practice renowned for its reproductive medicine, general medicine and surgery. Though a lot has changed over 30 years, our commitment to you and your pets has not: through communication, continued education and compassion we will protect the health of your dog or cat for as long as possible.

Working Together

Our staff of veterinarians, licensed veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants and receptionists strives in every situation to exceed your expectations. We know that our role as an advocate for your pets’ health and wellbeing is not to be taken lightly. Although your pet may have a primary doctor, we work with you, as a team to provide in-depth care. Our entire staff recognizes the value of client education and the importance of communication so that we can work together to give your pet a happy and healthy life.

In an effort to maintain our commitment to our clients and patients, we provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic tools and services. Through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories we can gain valuable information regarding your pet’s health and reproductive status. Our veterinary hospital in Okemos includes a well-stocked pharmacy and a surgical suite for dentistry, conventional surgery and laser surgery. Our digital x-ray unit for full body or dental radiographs and our expansive treatment area allows for client viewing of most xrays and ultrasounds. Our canine reproductive services include frozen semen storage, semen analysis, vaginal cytology, transcervical and surgical inseminations. If additional diagnostics or therapies are needed, we often work closely with referral hospitals. This can range from a simple phone consultation to scheduling an appointment for your pet to see a specialist.

In the end, our goal is simple: we will offer the highest standards of care with compassion and professionalism.
